    D2 steering box

Today i got the wheels ballanced, rotated and a wheel alignment. The bloke at Beaurepairs told me that our 3 year old discos steering box has some slop in it and its not the first one hes seen, ???? anyone out there had this or heard of it. The cars only just out of warranty and if its a common thing ill be hitting Land Rover with it.

I'm not certain of Disco 2's....but all RR Clasasics and Disco 1's were chronic preload adjustment looseners [if there's such a word!].....but it's a very simple adjustment...... see this link at a very useful U.S website I've often relied on http://rangerovers.net/repairdetails...oxclassic.html

Mmmmmm. Another thing I have to look forward to replacing on the Disco.
I have just had it put on gas and had to replace the radiator. The Disco is only 2 years old and done 30,000km but apparently there was mud down the bottom of the radiator which I had not cleaned out properly and it had coroded the core.

Sorry for the thread hijack but what gas system did you get ?? I am looking at doing the same with mine, trying to find something that gives good economy because i dont want to loose much cargo space so need a small tank.

Hi Mick, you can get gas tanks mounted under the sills, i think 40lt a side from memory(two 20lt scuba style tanks) that would take up no space in the boot at all.
By the way just blew my rear diff too bit and pieces looked much like your pictures you got yours finneshed yet.

I ended up getting the Landirenzo system. It was done by Rangerov who also do all the servicing on the Disco. I had scuba tanks put in the rear and they made a nice false floor to cover it all. It is a very neat job.

Yes, looked at the sill tank option 1 problem, well 2 actualy, SLS and ACE, they both sit on the outside of the chassis rails and would get in the way...
