6 (Six) inches.
As the title says the old style Rangie rims, The steel ones, they were standard on my 1981 Rangie do you know what the width is? I thought they were 7" but the DPI said they are 8" ?
thanks
Steve

Bugger..............I'd best call them back !
A lot of people measure the rim over the outside lip, not the inside where the bead sits.
Your rims may be stamped something like this: 16J x 6 x 33 = 16" diameter, J bead, 6" wide, 33 mm offset.

I'm at work at the moment so I cant measure them.
I'll just tell them they are 6" and see what they say.

Correct size for original "Ro-Style" wheels on your 81 RR Classic were/are 6.00 JK x 16 and they were TUBE type.
Original tyre size was 205 x 16 tube type (fabric) radial, often Pirelli "Centurauto".

It's hard to tell from the picOriginally Posted by downundersteve
.....too small and too dark.......they were pressed steel centres riveted (??I think???......ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE?????
) to steel rims ......the centres were styled to vaguely look like the alloys/mags of the time. An immensely strong looking wheel!

Someone else might be able to post a better pic.......but they were standard rim till the 3 "spoke" alloys came in on Hi Lines and Vogues in mid 80's.
I have 4 of them that are modified and are now 15x 7" tubeless rims
