just before xmas I spoke of (in anothe rthread) some mods id done to bir gred aircon to make it work a little better...

First up I added a small fan at the back and ducted it into the pasangers footwell to remove the hot air and draw coller air rearwards.. This worked a little. (its an electricians break out box some 25mm waste water flex pipe a power supply fan and some fig8 wire to run the fan from the aircons power feed)

It ment I could sort of doze in the back whereas SWMBO found it comfortable enough to sleep (I dont like the heat, she doesnt like the cold).

The air duct runs inside the trim quite nicely except for where I routed it out to have it exit behind the passangers chair then come in beside the cubby box and transmission tunnel. I'll also be doing the other side.

Then SWMBO put in one of those stupid "hangs from the aircon vent to cool your drink" cup holders and when climbing over to the back ripped it complete with the diffuser out of the air conditioner...

Being on the road at the time I left it out cause I didnt want to stop and I was enjoying the extra cold air coming out of it...

About 20 minutes later when i did the head on a swivel thing to check what alex was doing I noticed SWMBO was under a sleeping bag....

A couple of hours later It was my turn for nap time in the back, it was cool, cool enough for me to sleep and this was during the middle of the day.

Im still going to do up the other side and am also thinking of putting a couple of little squirrel fans behind the cubby and boing into the aircon ducting to get some cool air to the rear passangers foot well.

total cost so far $50ish including the cup holder thingy used to remove the diffuser.
