Another quick test for the fans - run two temporary wires one from poss on the battery the other from neg on the battery -

Push the wires into the connector (right way round + to + and - to -) and the fans will run if they are working

You have checked that they are free to rotate haven't you? Yes, of course you would have.

The fans ran whenever the AC was on in my old '86 RR (they don't on the P38A).

Well I did the test ie run temp + & - wire from the fan plug (has no power when pulled apart) to the battery and nothing from both fans

Please tell me I did something wrong...this is the last thing I need before going away

When testing the fans I had I key at on/run (all dash lights on), ac switch on and int fan on #2.....should I try with motor running?

Is there something else conneted to the fans ie relay or some other wonderful "Black Box" that may be the prob??

If fans are stuffed can they be repaired or throw away job?

With switches & ign. in the positions you describe, my '95 D1 AC fans runs without the engine running. Clutch pulls in as well. Have just double checked.

Seems odd that both are faulty though.

It is not clear whether you have actually run 2 independent wires from both batt. terms to the fan plug or not.

If you have connected poss + and neg - direct to the fans and they still don't work - they are buggered.

Generally the fans are not worth repairing.

A cheap fix is to go to the wreckers - and just buy any condenser fan - push direction air flow - that will fit, you can make up temp beackets, or in the very short term use cable ties to hold it in place.

Yes ....I ran a wire from battery + & another wire from Battery - to the fan plug both with spade type terminals, male & female to suit the plug.....

I did check to see which plug I had....I thought if there is power in the plug I have the wrong one to test the fans

Might double check it all again just to "Be Shaw"......

Not good news.....I have no hope of getting fans even close to what I need here.....we are out in the sticks....will just watch the temp gauge and see what happens I guess.......

    Very droll.
I'm not sure if these motors will run if wired 'back to front'. ladas would know.
Reverse the spades & see I suppose.
