I don't think it matters on gas.
The gas system works on the vacuum created by the butterfly.
The piston has no effect at all.
I've heard that with the stroms, there should be a vacuum switch that lifts and holds the pistons on gas. Apparently prevents wear (on what I don't know).
Havent seen any thing like a switch to hold the slides up wile on gas but ive found me probs and have now sorted them the gas mixture was a bit too ritch and flooding the thing with gas so now that bit is sorted on with the rest then off for a blue slip![]()
