Around $320 for 4x4de airbag kit.
Fantastic kit all instructions easy to fit.

Front Springs various types I purchased OME 779 heavy duty 50mm higher springs (probably more like 40mm). As I am running a steel bar and winch I put 3 off 6mm spring spacers under the front springs from Graeme Cooper or LRA has $10 or so each.

When the spring spacers go in the only trick is to lengthen the rear SLS arm spacers that come in the kit.

Mine has ACE and OME shocks handles fantastically no different to when it was lower. Probably better with the quality suspension.

Just for the record running 265/75R16 BFG Mud terrains they clear no problem. The only trick is to put a 3mm washer on the inside of the steering stops

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

Why do you believe it would be better with unimog diffs?

And you didn't say what kind of unimog diffs.

Address the issues of drum brakes, handing of pinion, pinion length and torque tube etc.

I don't think there would be many strength issues with the maxi-drive portals. They have disc brakes and pretty much a bolt on solution.

I haven't had anything to do with unimogs, or maxi-drive portals for that matter. Though I have some experience with Volvo C303 portals, and problems fitting disc brakes.

True (unless you get radical), when you only consider clearance measurements from level ground.

But in the real world, with uneven ground, a suspension lift will improve approach, departure and ramp over angles, which helps with the clearance where most most with disco's first have a problem.

    Thanks for the info...BradM
    Hi BradM,
The 2" lift handles fine. I tow a camper, so the SLS is great for me. If I didn't tow I would have changed to springs at the rear instead to get more articulation.
You do have to change the shocks, as the LR ones will be too short with the lift. I use Rancho's at the rear.
The front springs are Tough Dog. Didn't do much research here, but if I was to repalce them I would look around. Not much travel with the Tough Dogs.

I looked at this also, and it still gets more complex with mogs. The drop diff is a PS drop, so the transfer needs to be changed also.
