Thread: Key Remotes for D2

Ok i've had the same problem with the key bottons falling apart. Here's the solution you can go on ebay as i did and look for a Shop called Key Spot which is over in Canada, I purchased one a couple of weeks ago (did not give 2 hoots about the code problem) from him for $119.00 AUD delivered. When it was delivered (about 2weeks) just swap the guts over and then get the blank cut and hey presto brand new key for under half the price. Key Spot will also supply you with the code number if needed but only required if the lugs have fallen off the curcit board.

What year Discovery is yours? I just purchsed a geniune key for $295 programmed to my 2001 Discovery. I still need to get the blank cut as I want to keep the old one for a spare.

The one on that site looks the goods for '99 to '02,

didnt someone say the rubbers can be replaced??

No the rubber is one piece. That's the problem with D2 fobs.

That looks like an original Land Rover fob. It's good to know you can just replace the insides from the broken one.

On the original fob you can pull out the metal blade to put into the new fob. Do you know if the one you bought will alow this?

Nice find and heaps cheaper than geniune.

i couldn't remove the key on mine it looked as though it had been glued in but it only cost me $6.50 to get it cut..

I thought it was glued in but the mechanic at MR's at Redcliffe pulled the blade out by hand but it was tighter to put back in.
