    Yep
    ANOTHER TD5 GEM.
Some early motors missed out on a dose of loctite on the bolt,it comes loose and the motor is destroyed.
As the others said search and you should find plenty of info.
The fix is to drop the sump at your next service remove and re-loctite the bolt.

It is easy enough, just wear a raincoat, engine for ever drips oil once that sump is of, i hope you don’t have to share my experience.

    Hi all ,

For a late model D2 , do you still need to have the bolt issue recheck ? How often does loctite need to be applied ? Once only or every certain milage ?

    Doing the pump bolt

Participated in doing one of these yesterday... it takes longer than you think for what should be a straight forward job.

If you don't have a hoist in your shop (and who does), jacking the front of the car and making it safe takes time.

Lining up the gasket and holes in the sump and engine is a chore x 20 bolts.

And someone mentioned a raincoat - great idea and include hat and glasses for every drop of oil, muck and the odd bolt.
