I just read on a site from the uk that the sailsbury is pretty much the same centre as the dana 60 other than the pinion bearing and pinion set up.
Aparently you can put a D60 centre in, same bearings and all and use D60 ratios and LSD's and lockers.
Can anyone confirm this is possible and any problems which may occur from using these centres as it opens up a huge amount of possibilities and the D60 is almost indestuctable.

Next dumb question is, Whats in the Disco?
Rover diff. Essentially the same as Range Rover Classic.
So lets see, is it worthwhile fitting Maxis or a Sal and an Elocker from eaton with a near endless amount of ratios.
Sals are in Defenders right?
Sals in the rear only of most Defenders. Then you still have the issue of the front diff ratio. It is possible to fit a sals diff to the front, lot of work though.
What are you trying to achieve? I have found the Rover diffs in my Rangie adequate in strength up to this point. If I was going to fit 35s and run a monster engine I would upgrade to something stronger.
Sals were from Defenders but more recently the later TD5s went to the P38 style rear diff.
I suppose it would be possible to put a Sals in the back of a Disco (lot of work) but you'd still have to source matching ratios for your front axle as you are a constant 4WD.
Not sure why you would want to though ? Is it strength or are you trying to get more ratios ?

No just wondering really, I would like to try the Elocker but it's doesn't seem to be made for the Landrover diff but it doesnt really matter.
I couldn't find anything on here covering what diff was in what and I was surprised when I read about the D60.
I have had a couple of Jeeps and it is well known that the D60 is almost indestructable so It is worth knowing.
Elocker?
Land Rover Salisbury diff is near indestructable too. Once you fix the outer spline wear issues.
