    UPDATE: Okay, turns out that it was indeed the bull bar coming into contact with the guard making the knocking sound.....combined with the roof cage knocking against the cars roof rails Was a tricky one to pick up even though it was above me as it seemed to vibrate through to the front of the car.
    Anyway, glad all knocking was a simple fix so I can now move onto the next problem(s) - see other threads

    Not on a 99 D2, the antenna's are implanted in the rear load space windows, with the antenna amps in the rooflining.

    So at least you can discount that.
