Did the same as Gary. Screwed down the old lifting dash with a few coarse threaded PKs & fitted a Beige moulded mat over it. Made exclusively for a D1 & it sits in all the right spots with all the correct openings with Velcro pads underneath to hold it.

    Info for this is: Exact-Fit Adelaide. Fax. 8365 0453 Ph. 8337 6000

** The price has come down to around $100 but it doesn't help if it's not available.
It might be worth ringing around the specialists to see if they have any (I doubt it though, it's a local part #).

My Disco came fitted with the dash curl plastic screw down trim bit when I bought it. The previous owner who bought the Disco when about 1 year old said he had it fitted by a Landy specialist as Land Rover would not supply him with the part as he was the second owner. Going by all the other receipts I have for the car I'd say he had it done by Karcraft.

I have often wondered what magical tool they had to screw the part down with.

I've seen later model dash tops unaffected by dash curl on ebay for not much. This is what I'd go for as opposed to a dash repair kit.
Probably a fair bit of work to swap them over though.

you can buy them from karcraft in silverwater.......

also buy them from the uk and wouldn't suprise me if tr spares could get them as well and they are colour coded, thought about getting one for my car as my dash has curled a little but not enough to warrent me spending alot of money on one of those kits.......although i think they actually look good and tidy up the dash to

If you look really hard in this photo you can see the dash clamp. This is the only photo I have of my Disco which shows it.
