Fortunately though, mine has the Maxi-drive upgrade, which cost the PO $4500!!!

Wow thats a lot of R380's for the price of a rebuild/ upgrade.

Welcome to the forum, It's good to have another DIESEL owner here, and an Isuzu one at that.

I purposefully went for the LT95 as it is very strong and easy to repair/ rebuild. The LT85 is quite expensive to repair, and as said, with .996 high range and 750/16 tyres, should be quite happy at 110 to 115 kmh. I still have 235/85's and I can sit happily on 100 all day, and I only have the 1.113 :1 gearing at the moment.( G'Box was Ex '79 RR)

Have a look at some of the bills for rebuilding a santana properly and you'll see why I went for the LT95.

My LT85 had just $2200 spent on it three years ago at 380000k's. Professional rebuild, I was too busy, and it was done properly as I didn't have to pull it out and do it again myself which unfortunately is too often the case with repair shops. Can't complain.

That price included a new mainshaft, new 5th gear, a few other new gears, all bearings and seals, and most other bits. However I think most of the bill was labour.

    G'day Kaa45

Have you thought of running an Overdrive on your LT95, as I have a friend with a V8 110 wagon set up for touring that runs. the high ratio Transfer and the O/drive,runs gas and it gets along just fine, doesnt like a fully loaded Aust No.5 trailer on in O/drive though. but pulls well in top. vehicle has 460,000 klm's on it now

    cheers

    UncleHo,

I think I've got a pair of your sandals somewhere.....nope just old tyre tread.

An overdrive would be nice, I didn't know there was such an animal for the LT95

    Cheers

Don't GKN in Pommieland produce an overdrive, do a search. My LT85 goes beautifully behind the Isuzu after 320,000 k's, nice and quiet at 110km.

All I can find on GKN Overdrives is that they only fit LT230 Transfer case, not much help for an LT95.....
