    warn high mount

G'day, just a quick question. I just scored a second hand Warn high mount winch. I have a s2 disco, can it be mounted on a arb bull bar?

I have a high mount on my Series 1 Discovery. Had to cut the grill to fit it in the ARB bar though (Range Rover bar). I bought a 2nd hand grill to cut up and kept the good one to go back on if the winch & bar come off at a later date.

Won't fit without modifying the bar. They're built for M6000, M8000 and XD9000. I don't believe they will even take the any of the other 9000lb Warns.

As for modifying the bar, I think you'd need an engineering certification for anything done to it.

All warn high mount winches were designated 8000 lb. But, in reasonable mechanical/electrical condition, they will out pull any 9500 lb electric winch.

As others have said, the ARB (and other common manufacture) winch bars are made for low mount winches (some bars aren,t made for winches at all, or need a separate cradle).

Can't fit a high mount to a vehicle that is airbag equipped

Thats of course unless you want to make them inoperable

That's airbags in the dash, NOT suspension
