First off, has this Landy got the instruments in the centre of the steel dash or has it got them infront of the driver in a plastic dash, as the radiator is Series 2a, and they didn't have a compliance plate until 1971, the brake Master cylinder is 2/2a, but the right hand guard has the cut-out for the Boosted Master Cylinder, if you can give me the chassis no I can check my master parts book and give you an idea of the year and model, as I am Ex Leyland Aust Parts PM me the Chassis No if you like.

    cheers
Thanks, the chassis No. is 91343825c
Its got the S3 dash and the gearbox is all synchro as well.
As i stated earlier it came from a deceased estate so I cant get any info from previous owner. (Its former vic rego was LC 272 just in case anyone used to own it before that). Any info would be welcomed. I thought that my 68 LC torana i had when I was a kid did have a compliance plate though.

    Calvin info come out as
    913Model: Land Rover, Series III
    Body type: Basic
    Wheel base: 109in
    Engine: petrol
    Model years: 1972-1979
Destination: Completely knocked down (CKD), right-hand drive (RHD)
43825Serial numberCDesign: Two significant design modifications.

I talked to my mechanic today who said that it would be best to go in to the vicroads office who would have to approve it for rego and talk to one of the guys who do the inspections and get them to state exactly what would be required for rego before I do any work, then write down his name and the date etc. So I will probably have to fit in a trip to Setmour in the next little while.

    Cheers

I have just checked my books and it comes up as 913xxxxxc is a pre 1980 model 109 inch wb 2.25 petrol motor vehicle, CKD RHD so there you are it was a 4 cylinder in another life It would have had a compliance plate on thetop of the left side of the radiator support panel, there should be the remains of /or holes where 2 rivets have held it on, but it may have had a prang in early life and the panel replaced but the compliance plate not put on.you have the numbers inside on that plate. and it's previous rego details.

Can I just clarify if I should be looking inside for a plate, the entire seatbox and transmission area have had rubber soundproofing stuck to them, I dont want to pull it all off. Is there another plate where the 4wd instructions are normally attached on the vertical panel in front of the gearshift? The chassis number I read off the chassis behind the LHS rear wheel. Thanks
