I had to get them to make up a new line for my hydraulic clutch. They were very suspicious that I was going to use the line for a brake hose and they said repeatedly that they were not allowed to make up brake line hoses.

It'd probably be cheaper anyway to buy them from your friendly brake man.

    75mm! Thats cool!

Oer here, most Hydraulic hose guys will do it, I dont know why they wouldnt, make sure you get them made in 4 wire not 2 as it is more abrasion resistant.

Because legally they aren't allowed, unless they are an ADR/RTA certified brake hose manufacturer.
As Slunnie said, easier to get you brake bloke to do it.

<rant> olive and nut -3 brake hose ends are fine for aircraft and race car use, but for the RTA, etc they are highly dangerous and illegal. I know the argument that there is no control over who assembles the hose, but it just ticks me off that a superior fitting to a crimped end can't be (legally) used, that is also much, much cheaper when you do it yourself than what the brake places charge for a hose.</rant>

Recently had brake pipes made up for Defender, this was for pipes, but they did offer me braided hoses at about $80 each. While I was in there a fella came in to pick up a complete set of braided lines for his Ducati $500.

Just make sure you know what length, 'cos my lot weren't too hot at knowing how long a piece of string was.

    Cheers

    What

I picked up extended braided lines to suit LC60 axles for about $110 at BBM.

2 cars I have had go over the pits for rego have not had any problems with the Hydraulic hoses as break line.

4 wire Hydraulic hose in 1/4" will handle in excess of 1500PSI (a fair bit more than pedal pressure), I cant understand how that can not be suitable but fair enough, nothing much that the roads corp's ever do realy make sense.

    DirtyDawg,

I'm not sure if these may be any good to you, though I have brake lines to suit a RR that was running a King Spring 4" lift (Not my Discovery, a different 4WD). I'm not sure how much they are extended by, but the 4 fronts are 505mm in length from the flat surface of the fittings at each end (not the lock nut) and the rear is 550mm. They cost me $70 from a fella that was returning to standard, and you can have them for the same + postage if suitable and interested.

    Cheers
