Injector harness arrived from Karcraft yesterday, delivered to my office in Brisbane less than 24hrs after ordering it, and for less than $.
Its funny, he knew exactly what I was after, like he had sold a few of them already! Maybe LR should change the service instructions for 100,000km services!
Guys just a quick note - karcraft, have asked certain members of this site not to mention they are supplying direct to the public - as they are a wholesaler - they deal with the TRADE - some of whom read this site, there is an unwritten rule that should karcraft be used then prices not be spoken of.
Terms like - at a reasonable price / competitive price should be used - and of course what is said in PM stays in PM if ya get my drift....
Karcraft have been supplying to the public for a long time - please lets keep it that way....
The guys at MR Autos in Redcliffe Qld tellme they pop the back of the round plug off (the injecor harness itself) and fill it with high temp silicone, then put the cap back on. Stops oil pooling in the back of the plug which eventually runs down into the main harness itself by capiliary action. Not a 100% fix but the best around I'm told. I had the same problem but did the whole 9 yards andreplaced the entire harness, cost $1300 and a bit just for the main harness, $150 for the injetor harness and then labour!!!!!!!!! But all is well now. Got the old harness soaking in a buket of metho as a spare for the future:D
Hi
I run a 2002 D2 TD5 and was wondering if anyone has taken LR Australia to small claims or court over this?
From my limited knowledge of 1) trade practices law S75A and 2) The state based sale of goods acts surely LR would be found liable for rectification?
It's a disgrace they can build a wiring loom that leaks oil!! I mean that is so land rover
In a scheduled service is this something that LR dealers actually check? Or so they wait until you're stranded and then tell you that your wiring harness is leaking oil?
Was it ever fixed by LR?
I don't know what the big deal is,
just did mine $200 for bits. If you replace every couple of years pretty cheap considering all the other things that could go wrong with a TD5 Disco.
Cheers
Made a bypass if you check my pictorial "lesson"... got to install it yet!!
