use good quality adhesive....and take the time to let it do its job........

its a pain to get the lining out.......but it will make the glueing step so much easier.........

another little trick is to pr!ck tiny holes in the fibreglass backing......and then actually sew the cloth to the glass.........
if you use a thread the same colour....it will hardly be visible.......and should the glue let go......
it wont let the whole lot sag......as it will be held up by the stitching.......
run the stitching across the lining at say.....500mm apart......then that will only sag an inch or so lower......should the glue let go.........

yes....its time consuming........but its also dollar saving........
thats gotta be a good thing.........no....?

yes good thing I will try it
I know about removing the lining as its a pain and all the red dust falls down...and I have new sheepskins that cost $1100.00 so I will cover them.
    Thanks Tony

if you know the trimmers.......ask them about the different available adhesives.......
if you know them they should give you an honest answer as to what works and what doesnt........

    definitely wouldnt hurt to ask.......

    Question sagging roof liner

    Hi guys
I too have a problem with some sagging in my headling but it is only in two places ahout 15cms in diameter. I want to glue it back up before it gets much worse. Two questions-
    1. I have thought about using a syringe and injecting glue through the foam backing and glue to the roof- do you think this would work?
2.What type of glue do you suggest?

I asked AMV, they suggested to take it to the trimmers, But I thought I would give a go and save some money as it is not that bad ....Yet

I tried gluing the lining back in my classic. I took the whole thing out and glued it back as Tony suggested. It didn't work The foam backing fails and it sags. I took it to a professional who removed the head liner again, recovered it, and reinstalled it for $180. That was a few years ago.

Now my P38A needs doing. I'm told it's more expensive as it's a one piece head liner and has a sunroof.

Hi WA guys - I've also got an 89 Rangie (fawny light brown lining) that needs doing and a D1 Disco that also needs doing. If you do end up at the trimmers and the guy will give us a bulk discount - then count me in I'm in Roleystone.

Mine has just given up the ghost...the Disco interior looks like its been decorated by the fellow who also did the inside of a cheap Lebanese Restaurant called the Sheik's Tent.

It starts off small and inspite of my attempts to fix it it spreads.
