Thread: 300TDI Discovery Engine Vibration

Hello, Sorry to bounce back and ask the same question, can anyone please suggest how to resolve a harmonic vibration coming from the car posible from the engine or exhaust area of a discovery TD5. There is a harmonic vibration throughout the rev range, however it peaks at about 2250/2300 where its realy noticable and feels like a outboard motor. I have so far replaced the engine mounts and transfer case mounts, i had the exhaust cheked to see it if was touching, nothing.. I had the car checked for faults, the only thing come up was air flow meter was showing low readings. The donut and the double cardon joint. The car has a straight through mufler and the cat has been replaced with a resonator. The flex seem ok, it seems like its doing its job. We rev the car annd moved the exhaust around including the felx and this did not make a difference.
I would appreciate if anyone could provide some advice in resolving this, i have been putting up with it for the last year and i'm pretty much at the end of it now. May have to sell the car.

Can it be because the car doesnt have the original exhaust system with the cat?

    Thanks

    Td5 Vibration

I have a similar problem on my 300Tdi. There are a number of threads that may be useful, the following one probably more so...

    TD5 vibration 2500-3500 rpm

Hope this helps you fix your problem quicker/easier than mine!!!
