For my breathers I just used webbed clear fuel/water hose from a marine chandlery. The rear diff breather runs up into the body capping for the rear tub, the front diff, t-case and gearbox breathers run up to the highest point on the firewall. All of them are terminated by a chunk of filtter foam zip-tied to the hose.
I figure if the water gets up to the top of the firewall, the last thing I need to worry about will be getting water in the driveline.

Thank's guys. It was just a curiosity, after Adrians thread on breathers.
Not actually contemplating the idea. Just curious as to the practicality.
Probably many good scientific reasons not to try it.
My idea is to get breathers, well up out of the way, and let them breathe deep.
Some where up above the roof rack should be okay. With a turn down so as to not let rain in, oh wait, that is the maritime specs. Yep that'll do. If it keeps water out at sea, it should keep "some" out of a Land Rover.
Yep, it's raining again. Inside my S3. However, the sun visor does stop the worst of the rain blindness. Time for more flashing tape, and Her Ladyships hair drier again.
Shorty.
