Maybe this is what we need?

    http://www.ls1-power.com/

Welcome to the Range Rover LS1 conversion site.

We offer the re-powering of P38, or second generation Range Rovers with the all alloy General Motors Corvette engine.
Why the 5.7 litre Corvette engine? Well there are reliability reasons, modernity issues, refinement considerations and performance dreams.

The Range Rover has always been a car to waft along in. Especially as its mid range pulling power was not 'up to the mark' for such a heavy car. Try overtaking on an English 'A' road and experience that feeling of lethargic performance known to drivers of heavily laden trucks. In short most Range Rover drivers learn to wait for a very long space, and when towing - forget it.

With the LS1 engine installed the car finally gets the performance it deserves. Overtaking is effortless, cruising at 100mph a breeze (on foreign motorways only), towing is as if the trailer was filled with helium gas. The LS1 conversion allows the Range Rover P38 challenge the performance of the supercharged Range Rover Sport. BMW X5 and Volvo XC90 drivers now really know that the Range Rover is still king of the hill.

For those Range Rover owners who believe that the MK3 Range Rover is too big and too bling, the Range Rover Sport not a proper Range Rover (what happened to the tailgate?) or want to be understated this is the conversion to breathe new life into your MKII.

There's an ar*e who drives past my house and honks his horn (stop sign) just about every night in an e type jag, so I guess they can't be as unreliable as I recall.

    Cheers
