Ive got 7.5x16 tyres on defender rims with 1 inch wheel spacers on my discovery. A lot less hastle to fit than getting rims cut and rewelded.

Sooooooo... Why do people spend time, effort and $$$ to reverse disco rims when the sunraysia's are already offsetted (they LOOK good- yes they do)? quote]
the problem with sunraysias is that they are hard to get in 16" with a land rover stud pattern with a suitable off set. and most of all, they don't look like standard kit on a land rover, unless you have a game, but they had something closer to pekoe stars.

[QUOTE=barney;548371]Add to that - disco rims are a lot heavier construction than a sunraysia or similar. And in my case - the rims were (almost) free, and mods were only $45 per rim. I got mine offset an extra 30mm on the IIA (which means reversing). I will be doing the 110 rims 15mm soon - anyone reccommend somewhere in Perth?
Not really - this document states that wheel spacers are illegal in all states, unless they were OE fitment:

If anyones interested...
Morton & May will alter the offset for $60 per wheel or flip the centres for $90 each. This is correct as of last week when i dropped my disco rims off for a 10mm nudge.

These blokes did wheels for me when i had evil 2wd things and do a good job - friendly too. Turn around time is a week or two, depends on how many and how busy they are.
RE: engineers - if you have a prang (at least in NSW) and the engineer has signed off on a dodgy mod or it isn't included in the report, YOU are in the pooh! I have had 3rd party experience in that sort of legal battle. It's not worth it.![]()

Sunraysias may be cheaper but they're a pretty thin rim compared to the Disco steelies. Pick up a Disco steel rim and you'll know what I'm refering to, I was quite surprised how heavy they are
If you're on a budget, the Sunnies are a good alternative to the Disco rims which can be over $100 a rim on the second hand market.
