A bit more on the reference here and on an earlier thread to "slick" type additives, ie PTFE, which can cause problems clogging things up when used in engine oil:

I read a while ago that in the USA apparently Dupont, which manufactures PTFE was aware of this problem and tried to refuse to sell it for use as engine oil additive. However, this policy was disallowed by a court as a restriction of trade.
