I'd appreciate those details also Justin, so long as you haven't already sent them.

Also do you have any similar ones designed for Defenders?
I've been thinking seriously about making some that could be unbolted and used as a solid tow bar when needed. Any thoughts or suggestions?

For Discos and RR the body is rubber mounted from the chassis so it flexes very differently to the defenders which is solid mounted
If you where to mount them to the chassis you would need to allow adequete clearance for body flex (but then they look crap)

I'd be mounting them to the body as per everyone elses.

    Cheers
    Dave.

I also made my own because I'm a cheap bastard and I had half the **** laying around in the shed.

I used 50x75mm RHS mounted (welded) to 5x100mm plate that is bolted to the sill, bonded together with 10x120mm HT bolts and roof and gutter silicon (this **** is strong and hasn't moved a mm ).

Not the best looking set but it's good enough for my old dunga

I made my own (for the IIA) from some 50mm OD seamless pipe I had lying around. I welded 10mm flatbar to the chassis at each of the three mounting locations (to spread the load), then drilled and tapped it for M10 bolts.

The sliders double as air tanks for the York compressor. I mounted them with class 4.8 Bolts - designed so that if I hit something too hard, the bolts will shear before the chassis bends. All has been fine so far - the sliders have lots of serious scars from rocks, but have not bent themselves or the chassis (or sheared the bolts). Pipe is 4mm wall.

I am about to start on some sliders for the 110, will be making them in the same way - just using RHS this time instead. On that topic - have an Alloy bullbar and sidesteps for a 110 which I will be getting rid of soon if anyone is interested.

i am about to embark on rock and tree sliders and a rear wheel carrier for the 110.

80x40x4 rhs (if available) and some 10mm plate is what i was looking at using. should cope just fine i would think...

    edit:

    update steel sizes are

rock slider 76mmx38mmx4mm and tree slider 40mmx40mmx3mm and hi-lift jack points 25mm NB pipe x 3.2mm wall

each slider should weigh in about 20kg when galvanised i believe

    Hi Justin
Can I also be included to those details?
That is one of my upcoming projects and I have already started sketching ideas... (and they are not going too well)
