There is a member of LROCV running 15" on a Discovery 2 with great success.

Aftermarket wheels for a Holden Crewman will fit and are rated for the weight. Taken further perhaps the factory steelies of the Crewman could work too. And could be really cheap!

I'm actually surprised that you can even get 15in wheels on a Crewman. My Dad had a new base model AU Falcon in about 2001-2 and even it had 16in steel wheels.

very interesting!...so just to recap....If I find some good mags that would suit a common crewman, I'll be able to fit them to my beautiful D2?....what about the offset?....also at the beginning of the thread there was a warning on spacing??

I (especially after the last trip to Tolangy) don't do hard - off road stuff, just stick to the basics. ...........and I have been in positions where I only need a bit of traction - not too bothered with clearance
Ladas, I would say at least stick with the standard size tyres. If u go down 2 27inch tyres & air down 4 traction you`re gunna clean up a fair few ants.

I still very much doubt a 15" rim will clear the brake caliper or backing plate... maybe you should borrow one and try before spending the cash...

and I am now looking around for some 235/60/ 16's so I can get a more agressive/chunkier off road tyre without having to lift or cut

Just to let you know that the 235/60/16 is only a 27inch tyre, max size that you can go down in Qld is 26mm, also a 27 inch tyre may not have the same size load rating as a 29" RR are rated at a 102 minimum standard is 109 load rating
