You need to check the build date, not rego date on LR.
the D2 was released in England in late 1998, when it came to Australia it was released in 1999.
The Vin number is the only way to get model changes correct.
(eg) for CDL in or not.
If you have the diff lock stud on your unit you will only require the linkage parts, to determine this you will need to find the transfer case serial number and check it starts with either 41D or 42D.
If it starts with 61D, 62D, 69D or 70D then you will need the diff lock parts to go in the transfer case.
This is strange i know, but it's the way it is here, my D2 has a build date of august 2000, but was released as a 2001 model buy LR.
The model change is mid year, june/july/august approx

Hi All,
Many thanks for all the helpful replies. This is a great forum!
At McDisco's suggestion, I've examining the data in Redbook. I know that these sorts of guides, including Glass', do have errors and so don't take the following as gospel, but according to Redbook:
- All DII's had VINs beginning with SALLTGM. In the data below, what is listed as the VIN is the next 4 alphanumerics.
- The First DII (release date Feb 1999), was designated "Series II" & the VIN was "97XA".
I was planning on sending a table of data, but I can't find out how to do it (probably just my incompetence (after all I am "Slow")). Any help appreciated.

Hi Pedro_The_Swift,
I must confess that - in a previous life - I was also nicknamed "Pedro the swift". Over time, I got sick of trying to explain it to people and shortened it to "Pedro".
When I signed up to aulro, I didn't even know you existed, otherwise I may have used a different "monicker" .
These days, "Pedro the Slow" is probably more apt.
Further, I wouldn't want anyone to confuse me with someone of your expertise.

We need another Pedro
Bet the new one is BETTER
