    how long has it been since the oil and filter was changed?

    Oil and filter are changed every 5,000km (10k for filter). Getting close to time for a change however this was has been occurring for a change or two now.

    have you tried just fitting a new cap?

    Nope, that would be too easy. And if there is excessive pressure, I'd rather it blow out the cap than rear main or other seals.

    But maybe it is as simple as replacing the cap?

    Its worth a try, i would be more inclined to try the cheap stuff before the expensive stuff

    if the pressure gets tothe point where the cap is blowing off, thats bad but even if you glued it down tight it woud blow out the rocker gaskets before it did the mainseals and if you welded those closed it would pop the dipstick tube out.

    are you getting any vaccume to the crank case scavange side of business??
