Thread: Oil,V8i's, Maintenance and other matters

Hi everyone. I was just curious of how often I should change the oil. Some say 10k's some say 5k's or should i just do it now? I never really looked after any other car I have owned as the were always old heaps but this one doesnt even seem to be dirtying the oil much at all. Maybe LPG has something to do with this or at least someone has told me this. I had about 184k's when I got this LR and now have 192. I changed the oil when I first got her and I used Valvoline XLD premium. is this ok? Adding to this I cant seem to find the filler for the gearbox. I have been under there with the torch and about all i can seem to find is the drain for it's transfer. Oh and those driveshafts how often do they need doing and how much grease to put and even the axles how often should I be doing those?. I have shell retinax is that ok for the shafts or do i need some other kind of grease? Oh it does seem to be leaking some oil in the driveway. It comes from 2 pipes that lead to the radiator. Is this some sort of cooling device? anyway cheers.
