No idea but on the right side, behind the tail light, the plug in bit, for the trailer plug is there, could be a crossed/ earthing out connection there. You could try by checking your trailer plug connections if you have a towbar.

I dabble, relays a pro, as previously mentioned bet your towh plug is scotch locked or bodged in.

HELP!
That is exactly what has gone wrong with mine, plus a continuously clicking relay under the dash somewhere. 97 model tdi auto.![]()

Me too exactly the same problem and because the stereo speakers are also shorting out I can't drown out that bloody relay ticking.
guys its not a relay ticking its a circut breaker you have a dead short somewhere that is causing a priority circut to make and break, how fast is it ticking?
If im right (and I hope Im not) if the circut breaker gives up and tacs itself closed your in for what could be a potential world of hurt.
Based on generic design rules the Circut breaker will be buried in the dash within coee of the internal fuse panel. (usually above and behind) it (and sometimes a couple of others) will power your parkers and depending on the maker, the hazards, the aux power feed for the trailer (that runs the trailer brakes on elec trailers in some setups so is considered important) and the feed to the brakelight fuse.
Im not sure what a disco has on the Circut breaker but those are the circuts that your allowed to put on a circut breaker instead of a fuse.

So we have the symptoms but what is the cure? Mine has the dual tail/brake and indicator lights in the rear bumper plus the higher side lights so i have two of everything on each side. My trailer light dash light has always come on with the indicators. Is it a crook earth in the rear somewhere?
look for the damage you may have done on your last outing......
adjusting panels may squish wiring behind them.......
water or mud......or a 5cent coin in your trailer plug........
scotch locks......as mentioned above....give trouble after a couple of years.......
maybe remove the globes on that side and see if the fuse still blows.......
if it doesnt......then refit them one by one till you find out which is blowing the fuse........
then check the wiring to that light fitting......
