Back to Jack110......is it a daily driver?..there are chev importers a heap cheaper over east.. I had one quote for a Crated 6.7lt @$12000 to my front door. and maybe have it mated to a LT95 G/box or which ever runs with the Isuzu Motor as it would handle the extra grunt a bit better..but there are guys here with the applicable knowledge to mate a better drive train..
But in Fairness to Brunswicks they did tell me they dont recommend the Chev conversion for Defenders..If it goes down the legal path I will help![]()

Thanks for the offer of help, it's not a daily driver but has been in the past!
I think I'm on a hiding to nothing as the motor went in 2yrs/35000 k's ago...and to try and recover $5k with legal costs at $300-/hr, well.....
Just had a look at my original invoice though...the 6.5 was $16k fitted, well sort of...the bits and pieces added $4k to that(h/d radiator,driveshaft, conversion kit etc)so $20k.Then the tfr box 4mnths later to get the revs down, $2100-, then the repair bill for clutch and g/box just received, say $5k.
So it didn't start out too bad....just where it ended up that is the problem.
I'm guessing the installers don't recommend defenders as a result of the issues they have had with mine re overheating which took 18 mnths to sort and I'm waiting for summer to confirm all is well but seems to be.
Overheats only in soft beach sand, summer time, with wind at back so minimal airflow, fine everywhere else.
The first $900- brand new copper cored radiator now ditched in favour of custom made aluminium cored job.
Second small radiator now under the 110 with switch to activate as/when required.
Been through about 5 different fans and I think 3 different viscous hubs.
Also tried an electric fan at front of radiator, now sitting on a shelf in my garage.
To give the installers credit they didn'y baulk at any of the above, all at their cost and totally committed to sorting it out....must have cost $2k at least in parts plus heaps of labour.
I guess the moral of the story for me is that Landys need to go to Landy specialists.....

No Worries mate, The Chev 6.5 is notorious for over heating but for some reason only good reports for the 6.7lt.My dads mate has one running his winnebago 6.7lt No dramas..but his ute has the 6.5lt and nothing but O heating dramas..go figure..I wonder what the diff is apart from displacement size![]()
