    P38A EAS Reset without Testbook

    Someone has developed the code to reset the EAS using Linux!

    Now someone has developed it to work from a PDA!

    See the thread and link to the Linux software at:

    RangeRovers.net :: View topic - EAS -- Is this a clean deal?

    Very interesting.

    I've just made up the null modem lead to use with the cable I hgave for my laptop and installed the EAS PDA software EASPPC on my mobile phone.

    I was able to read the EAS faults (none) and other parameters as described here: RangeRovers.net :: View topic - EAS tool - You could help

    If you have a PDA or PDA phone with a serial port, this is worth installing.

    It's free software.

    Oh, for Classic owners, the software will also work but you have to make up a small one-transistor electronic circuit described in the notes for the software.

    I recall there was some free software available for download some time back. The software was free but you had to purchase the Cabling from you OBD11 car end to the Laptop or PC end. just a matter of googling some more.
    Some one with Techy electronic experience with access to the connecter parts could build one.
    some info
