    Which Chip for a D2 Td5

As some of you more regular attendee's to this site may be aware, I'm in the middle of a few 'upgrades' to the Disco.
So far I have the new CDL, the linkages, a set of Bilsteins and a set of springs from Browns all sitting in on the garage floor. They'll all be fitted in about 2 weeks time.
Just thinking that while I'm at it, I might throw a chip in as well.
Any thoughts on which chip is best?
I do a reasonable amount of 'medium' to 'slightly hard' stuff but also tow an off road camper trailer which weighs in at around 1100kg when loaded.
I also do a run up to Qld at least once a year to see my mum so 'cruisablity' is important too.
    All opinions welcome

Hobie doesnt know it yet but hes paying for big red to be rebrained....

as i have a very very sensitive right foot Toombraider will get the instruction of..

give it everything shes got everywhere she can have it...

and then via the boost gauge, the EGT gauge and the accelerometer I'll handle just how much the engine gets via careful modulation of the TPS.

    I'll let you know....

I have a switch that makes the ecu think the vehicle is in low range, thus using the long, slow throttle mapping. Its very good for when 'careful modulation of the TPS' is desired yet allows full throttle if pushed all the way down.

    Hey Wardy1
I fit alot of the Tunit Power upgrade chips, have had a good run on the TD5's, just did my brothers the other day, the advantage to the Tunit's is they are completely Lap Top Tunable as well as you can self adjust the power on the unit if required. From what I have found the TD5 seems a little all over the place with its settings, hence every chip I will test drive and then re-check and tune as I go, hence getting a more suitable result. The other advantage is you can adjust the Tunit to suit other mods, lke bigger Exhaust and bigger Intercoores etc. Every one has been more than wraped with the results both in power and fuel economy.

    Cheers

Wardy, I had the Bruce Davis chip put in at Ritters, while on a family visit to Donvale. The trip back to sydney was totally different to the drive down, NO kickdown on the hills & it just ate up the road. I'm used to it now & somtimes wonder if it's as it should be, until I come to a hill and when it holds the speed & increases if need be - then I know it's right for me. From what I've heard the BD chip is way to pricey but gets alot out of the motor. Not sure if there are others out there that get the same power & torque without the high price.

All I did was to track down the wires going to the low-range switch on the transfer case and put my switch in parallel. It prevents cruise control though - the ecu might be programmed to not enable CC in low range, even though the vehicle's doing 110kph!
