from everything I've researched, the Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide chip is the best compromise of power and reliability. I'm pretty sure this is the one Graeme Cooper fits in Squid...

    Hi Jezzaol
Is the Tunit system compatiple with the early non-flashable D2 TD5 ECU?
My mate has one on a 2004 130,he reckons it goes like a train.

They fit all TD5 Models and they are about $1300 fitted and lap top tuned.

They are quite a easy fit up in the TD5 with the ECU near the battery, If you can use a soldering iron you would easily fit it up yourself, could pre-download the chips (depending on other mods) fairly spot on from the other TD5's fitted to.
PM me if you would like more info.

    Cheers

Question Is the Tunit similar to the DPChip?

G'day everyone - I've just joined the forum and have owend my 2001 TD5 D2 since new. I also tow a trailer and have been conducting some research into Chips after I just blew a head gasket and one injector fdriving from Melbourne to Kakadu!

Ritters do the BD Chip for $1,090 fitted
TRS (Adelaide) http://www.triumphroverspares.com.au do a chip for $595
Both of these options are exchange ECU, then injector code programming etc.

The other alternative that keeps appearing is the DPChip (DP37) or http://www.awdtech.com.au
This chip is about $1400 if you buy direct, or a little less pluss fitting/dyno - count on about $1500

The DP Chip is a 9 stage chip, so you can "wind it up" if you need...

I would be interested on others views as I am seriously thinking of the TRS primarily due to the price difference

Les Richmond automotive in Thomastown does an exchange ECU chip (3day turn around if you use your own ECU) for about $700. but do not know anything else about them.

Wardy, is yours auto or manual? I have a manual Disco 2 so I reckon that chipping a manual won't show the improvement that a auto will, as you can keep the power and torque up constantly with the auto.
