Got 'em anyway so fitting them will be in due course.

Setting up pinions is not as simple as setting up crown wheels, its something you need to get right, you also need the gear......Jig and known measured spacers and feeler gauges......and shims
$80 was to replace all bearings re fit new ones do preload bla bla bla, the whole lot. (not oil) i give my diff bloke my diff and bearings/gears and seal and $80. he gives me a finished center to install.
timkin bearing set for rover center cost me $80...

    cheers phil

Replacing bearings and setting up a NEW pinion in a different housing is alot more time consuming

Replacing the pinion bearings is pizz easy, as you dont (shouldn't) affect pinion height due to bearing manufacturing tolerances being such a high standard, but when you actually have to alter the height, its assemble, fit jig, check, disassemble knock out bearing cup, change shim, assemble, fit jig............etc till its dot on

Edit: $80 for all 4 bearings and cups?? where and what, 'cause that's cheap and would be handy to know

I just looked up my account transactions.

I bought a pair of 1:4.11 r&p from Ashcrofts in Sept 2006. Cost including shipping to my door, was 510 UK pounds and with exchange rate at the time, came out to A$1295.

Remember prices on their web site include VAT which does not apply to us.
