my LT77 in the 'fenderhas a magnetic plug on the gearbox.. every time i change the oil a little bit more synchro from second comes out
still. replacement sometime (hopefully soon) after christmas.
pulled a 3" long section of bearing cage out of a CAT 793C off highway dump truck once.. came from the diff magnetic plug.
I have never tried it but leaving metal exposed to a magnet for a perid of time does the same thing doesn't it? Or am I just mad?
I have a few small magnets lying round and thought of using epoxy to fit one on the top of the plug but would worry about it coming loose in the box.
