    Tyre pressures???

Hi all, What tyre pressures are you people running in Disco 1s? I purchased my LR in Melbourne in Jan 07 and drove it back to Cairns, found it well mannered & comfortable apart from pulling slightly to the right. Within a month the front tyres (205 Bridgies H/T) were wearing the shoulders so I got an alignment and increased the pressure to 32psi & 36psi. I then replaced all 4 tyres with 225X16 A/T with the intention of running lower pressures but the tyre shop insisted 40psi was minimum despite showing them the spec in the owner's manual. The thing was all but undrivable! they have since lowered the front to 28 (feels good now) & the rear to 38 but it still bucks off line from the back on moderate bumps. Any suggestions? I'm sure a quality vehicle should ride and handle better than this.

Also check your shocks, particularly the rears.

I run nitrogen allround @ 36psi. On my last D2 I got 115000km on factory michelins (on/off road). Ran Nitrogen religioulsy.

As said by slunnie check your suspension setup.

do a search on AULRO there is a way to test for correct tyre pressure. Something about the difference in pressure between a warm and cold tyre not more than Xlbs or something like that, but can't remember exactly how

Thanks folks, I'll try running 34. Tyre shops are always over inflating tyres, check the tyre and rim association handbook

    That figure is 4psi

Trouble is, it is very difficult to establish, as you need to also consider other factors such as load, speed, road/track surface etc etc.

    Cheers Charlie
