Some defenders can suffer from a bent clutch fork, i'm not sure that you would call it an ongoing problem though.
I have Land Rover. Early defender and have heard they suffer ongoing clutch fork problems. Anyone with info please help

was it a bent fork they suffer from.......?
or was it the pivot ball wearing through the fork......
for the latter......the fix/prevention was to weld a washer on the back of the fork over the pivot point
to thicken and strengthen the weak spot......
this gives a lot more steel for the pivot ball to wear through.......which will cause it to last a lot longer......
by which time...you will have had to replace the clutch at which stage you check/repair/replace the fork.......
basically.....you dont need to remove the whole box just to fix the fork.....by taking preventative measures during a clutch service.....
