Hi cucinadio, can you post a few more details, like how long you had the battery, the size of the battery, how you have used it and if you have abused it EG ever flattened the battery and so on.
Cheers.
no the battery was new about five months ago and with all the botther with my dizzy "trying to crank it over has run it down, theres a cencer that tells u what the situation is w the battery eg; charged, low charge, get checked ect'
it was reading no charge so ive put the thing on the battery charger for the last 24h's and its still reading no charge, ive just come back from the battery shop and its stuffed so i was looking for some info on what u guys thought
cheers
That may depend on the output of your charger compared to how many CCA's your battery needs to turn your engine over. In the past I have put my start battery on charge for three or four nights before the hydrometer on the battery has indicated any change, the reason is the start battery needed 850 CCA's or thereabouts and the charger I had was just a little cheapo one from Super Cheap with not much outut. Using the same charger on the deep cycle it still took a couple of nights but I had results much quicker because it was a much smaller battery.
I average 3 years out of a pair of batteries (I replace them when they test at 75% or less of nominal CCA on a torture test)
the deep cylces get abused having to deal with cranking over other peoples cars as I wont hook jumpers up to the main battery being run down flat and riding in a defender...
but they still make my 3 year mark.
