    Flushing of intercooler

    Hey All

    I have a 01 Td5 and was wondering how often you should flush the intercooler? I have had mine for 3 years now and it hasnt been done...

    Also, where can I access the regular maintenance schedule for the Td5 that outlines when thing like this should be done?

    Landrover Discovery Series II (All Models) maintenance check sheet says every 80k.

    I gotta get enthused and do mine soon. Any one know a good cleaner to use.

    Any solvent will do the job.

    I used prepsol on mine and after i flushed it i ran compressed air thru it to get rid of any flamable fumes , this saves your engine wanting to run on the fumes

    When I removed mine at 85K to install a larger one, there was no sign of oil at all - it was spotless. My vehicle only gets country driving.

    I dont know if mine was done at 80K as it say on the maintenance check sheet as I didnt own it then, but this should have been redone at 160K mark, and I did own it at that stage. I am now at 190k so I might get the mechanic to drop it out and flush it...or get a new large one put in...

    I have noticed a bit less power of late but this could be put down to so many things, MAF, intercooler, hoses etc etc etc...
