Thread: Sand Tyre Preasures

I run Cooper HT 265x70xR16s on my Disco and Defender and "normal" pressures are 14 psi when on normal sand.

I have had to go down to 10 to get out of some powder stuff and then inflate again to my "normal" 14

If the sand is compacted it is easy to run at slightly higher pressures

The whole idea of running low pressures is to spread the footprint adn it makes the driving easier.

You can get away with not deflating but it does put some degree of stress on the the whole transmission.

There's a very interesting take on the debate of what pressure tyres should be run which I highly recommend as a good read.
