    Disco leaks

Like many others, my disco 1 leaks into the drivers foot well

Pretty sure it is the wiper motor panel, so I've got a tube or black butyl mastic to get into it this weekend.

I'll have a bit left , so I plan on doing the passenger side panel and at least the top edge of the windshield.

If I have any left over, are there other likely spots that I should hit?

    little job snowballs...

the wiper panel had an obvious leak in the across the seal so I think I've licked that one.

there were two other leaks I wanted to chase. One little dribble coming out the LH rear speaker and another out of the rear cabin light.

The head lining has the classic sag so I thought I should pull it out to see what is going on with the leaks.

well, it seems that the rear speaker leak comes from what looked to be a bubble of rust in the LHS alpine window. Window out, it is moderately bad and needs attention.

the rear sunroof has little plastic corners with a hose tail the provide a connection for the drain hose. one of these has cracked and leaks onto the head lining.

seeing I need to paint the alpine rust repair and the paint is metallic and the clear coat on the rear is stuffed, I will have a better looking job if I paint the whole roof.

    roof rails off

I still need to pull the sunroofs out. not a bad thing because I can be confident they are sealed to the roof well when they go back in.

Night shift this week, so I can drive the mrs car to work and she won't get cranky about it

took the photos, but my big PC cacked it self after a power out age. This little old lap top won't talk to the camera.

I'll post picks when my PC comes back from the doctor.

    Interesting problem
I had the same problem nearly drove me to drink trying to fix it. It rusted out the floor pan and I had to replace it and the passenger side as well, not the easiest job on the planet. The fella who replaced the windscreen said that it never had any sealant on it, so he used sealant when he replaced it and it stopped it leaking completely I think.

I cant tell if it did or not as I use it every day and with the wet weason of course I get in with wet feet so the floor has wet patches from my feet, but is appears to be fixed. It might be worth looking at.

    Cheers Blythe
