that one looks like a single solenoid spring loaded jobbie to, I don't know that 10/15 psi on the spool will over come the spring when the solenoid is activated...
I could be completely wrong though

Take the SMC part number into a Parker or Festo Distrbutor, with out a catologue handy I couldnt give you the equivalent part number but Parker will sort it out for you real fast at a good price I suspect. Screw them for a good discount at least less 20% they get less 40% from Parker.
Cheers
what about arb they sell air valves and solenoids for about 50 each.

If the valve is to be used on vacuum you will need either directly actuated or if it is internally piloted (servo assisted) you will need a valve that allows you to connect an air supply separately to the coil end of the valve. This is because to get a low wattage coil many valves use a miniature solenoid valve directly mounted on a pilot operated valve, the solenoid isn't man enough to move the internals of the valve so the miniature valve lets the air pressure shift the main valve over.
Hope this makes sense.....
I work for a pneumatics company and one of the product ranges we sell in Australia includes directly actuated valves.
Special price.......1/8" BSP 3/2 valve Normally Closed with a 24V AC coil (also suits 12V DC) $42 plus GST including coil & DIN plug. Unfortunately postage adds another $10 plus GST.
PM me if you need any further details.

Righto, I give upUnlike me, but I ran the 1/4" lines in the cab, whilst I set the switches up for the thermos and solenoid
BUT, I did find, well a mate that works for a hydraulic place did, 5 port, direct operated valves with 1/4BSP fittings, EXACTLY what I wanted.......................for 200 beer tickets a throw
, so manual switches it is

I'm getting in a habit of digging up old threads to current problems. I'm currently dropping a pair of Maxi-drives into my County and was wondering if anybody has recently tackled the vacuum solenoid problem and has any part numbers/suppliers they can recommend. I think I'll need a 5/2 solenoid per diff with the vacuum connected to the exhaust port.
Would love to have kept it simple and used the original solenoids but none came with the diffs.
Cheers,
Mark
I think you need a 3/2 directly actuated solenoid valve for each locker. Vacuum connected to port 1 (or P) and the diff connected to port 2 (or A), exhaust is through the solenoid stem so you need a small silencer fitted to act as a filter.
Some valves use the air supply to servo-assist the switching of the valve (makes for a smaller wattage solenoid coil) but because you are switching vacuum there is no pressure available.
I can work out a price but there are lots of low cost options out there.
