Hi Michael, I seem to recall seeing lowered rear shock mounts that might just solve your problem.Adverts in the LRO magazine and similar are the likely source for that idea. I think they bolted into the original chassis holes.This might let you use affordable S/As and get more down travel. Cheers, 130man.

when measuring, Koni and Bilstein measure from the base of the pin, a lot of other manufacturers (Rancho is one) measure to the centre of the bush.
Eyes are measured from the centre.

Also remember that you can get the long travel Bilstein (100mm longer, 50mm more travel) that LRA originally commissioned from Bilstein, but now seems to be available through both Bilstein importers (Quadrant and Heasmans)

Koni Patrol rears and 79 TLC rears can be modified to suit. Proven products and Toperformance can both do this.
Much cheaper than forking out for Raids, which are ridiculously overpriced compared to their competitors, ie. Fox, King, etc.

What about procomp or monroe gas????????????

The KONI RAID 90-5401s are $180AUD each out of the UK and about $260AUD each out of the USA. I've sent some queries out, will let you know what transpires.

yep go the the rear lowering mount for the shock...gives you more of an option and u can run a std lengh shock...scorpion # 2002-0027

I just picked up two x Billies from Quadrant at Hallam for $510.00. They are the extra travel ones as per Rick 130's post and fitted with protectors. They also offered to re- valve them if they are too stiff for nix.
You really need these, or a similar travel shock as I had exactly the same setup as you and busted one rear shock clean off on the Wandin test track and recently broke the 3 mounting bolts on the rear pin on the Bloomfield track in QLD. Kinda let me know with a fair old din.
Its wrong of OME (AR to market these 2" lift kits as the shocks simply restrict the travel too much and obviously don't like doing it.

I'll give them a call tomorrow, $510 for a pair sounds pretty good.

I can't believe I had 10cm of suspension travel that was thwarted by an ill fitting shock. I would never have thought a company that "engineers" suspension systems would do that. Several people have noted how often my back wheels were in the air during off road trips - with only 3cm of suspension extension I understand why.

My first choice is KONI, because of the larger bore. I've seem Bilsteins get pretty hot in cold desert driving. Despite that, they didn't fade - so they're my second choice.

I don't think they'd last as long, nor do I think they'd make a shock that long - but I haven't investigated them yet.
