which is how I can push a Nissan TD42T out past 20,000km OCI's easily with less wear using Delvac 1 than a decent mineral oil changing at 5,000km ;)
Frank, you're preaching to the converted re synthetics, and I've lost count the number of filters I've cut open. ;)
I know operators using Delvac 1 in DD60 series engines averaging 96,000km fleet oil changes vs 30,000km maximum using RX Super, (Mann-Hummel centrifuges as by-pass filters and used oil analysis) but if people insist on 5-10,000km oil change intervals, a good mineral oil protects just as well as it's predominately additive package these days rather than base oils that do the protecting.
Mostly, it's only over the long haul the synthetics really show an advantage.
