Should wash off with a mild detergent - one of the car wash detergents would be best.

Hey Folks, just wondering what is the best method/best product for removing gearbox fluid off the car. I had one of the cooler line hoses burst on the highway and now the car is pretty much covered in gearbox fluid, paint work, suspension, brakes, wheels, engine bay and windows. Left a nice puddle on the highway, that is what wasn't burnt on the exhaust pipes to create that beautiful white cloud of smoke behind the car. Had the fire extinguisher handy before I opened the bonnet - just in case.
Got the car towed home from the coast, looks like another weekend of car work coming up
Thanks for help

thanks for the replies, someone else has suggested Mototech Degreaser (spray can) from Repco - good/bad ??
Ignore all above posts.
KENCO Shift It - Heavy Duty Cleaner!
spray on leave for 5-10 minutes, hose off, thats is all I have to say.

Lucky i didnt take your offer to go for a spin in the car... I would have felt like shiit if that happened while I was at the wheel.

for the paint work....i would just wash it the way you normally would......
if its really oily.....use a bit extra detergent in your bucket......
for everything else underneath.......a can or two of degreaser......spray on...hose off.......
if its now drivable with out risk of it catching fire you can drag it up my way and I'll get it over the cleaning pit at work and you can cut sick with the gurnie and truckwash there while I set up for a small project Ive had to back burner.

Cheers Dave, The hoses have been replaced I just need to reassembly some components, which will most probably have to be tommorrow, when were you thinking?
