    Question lt77 gear lever hard over to the left

    The gear lever is hard over to the left hand side of the gate. Fifth gear no longer engages. the other 4 gears plus reverse still works. Is it worth having a look threw the top or simply take the box out.

    Sounds like the bias plate has cracked. Happened to us just finishing up a trip around northern NSW, about 400km from home.

    If you take the centre console out, you can get to it through the top. Should be a simple remove and weld job. Ours happened nearly 50,000km ago and has been spot on since. The thing cracks at one of the corners - it's a folded pressing. Unfortunately I don't have pics, but someone else has .

    Maby the gear stick has come a drift from the shifter peg and moved a bit remove the boot and check if the nut is tight that holds the gear stick may just need repositioning and re tighten
