yes the supporting bar from the defender kit can be retrofitted to the series III (either the vertical post one or the cross bar.

Its legal to put one in the center front of a 3 door and use the rear bulkhead frame to secure it. (but that has a cut out date due to an ADR type complience change)

I fitted a baby seat bolt to my S III SWB with the seat in the front row, so should be the same with a LWB with the seat in the back row. I simply put the bolt at the extreme rear on the wheel arch right next to the door opening. There are several thicknesses of metal there so it is quite strong. There may have been a bolt there previously that I opened up the hole for the larger bolt but I am not certain of this. (I did it about five years ago) Put a large washer on the underside so the weight is spread, I think I used the bolt that came with the seat. The strap from the seat is only just long enough when it is extended fully, but you can buy extensions if it doesn't reach. I had mine inspected by an approoved inspecter and a Mod Plate fitted, so it is all legal.

    Cheers, Mick.
