Until ACE bars are locked by cornering quite hard (0.35G) or not so hard (0.2G) if ACE thinks the vehicle is doing less than 40kph as is possible with mine, they are not the same as rigid bars and the ACE vehicle's suspension is able to move in a manner that non-ACE can't. But in my books the greatest impact of the way shocks work on a 4WD (vs race track) is for the different road/track conditions felt whilst driving in a straight line - dips, bumps and corrugations combined with the differing loads for different trips. In a straight line ACE bars are locked, excepting under 40kph in 'rough road' conditions.

I agree - its not worth worrying about as there are more pressing issues.

And as far as knowing dynamics of suspension I wouldnt have been employed as the wheel aligner with Goodyear if I didnt
(Tuned many drift and race cars) which have more handling capabilities in there left rear than any LandRover ever would
Ive had Kings (to soft)and Lovells(to stiff (if your not happy with them they dont replace them) (Both sets of springs didnt compensate for the lean)in mine as well and they are Crap compared to TDs (Tough Dogs have given me a very capable on and off road car)
If you want to talk about mid to low speed cornering in a vehicle we arent talking race cars here its a 4x4 and your not going to notice the difference as it wont get to the point were you need to run stuts across the front or rear towers for added stiffness or need in car bias controlled swaybars to compensate understeer or oversteer for that matter
I have a good enough understanding of suspension to have set up my WRX for track work at Waneroo Race track and beat cars with more grunt but a bad setup so dont go telling me I dont know what Im talking about when it comes to suspension
The question that was first asked is do I need to have a revalved set of shocks for a D2 that has ACE and the answer is NO you dont its a pile of Codswallop as there are heaps of us that dont have especially valved shocks that run D2s with Lifted and standard height Discos
So get back in ya box and close the lid
    LMAO ....

I've felt the difference in handling with the revalved shocks.... Its remarkable, has far nicer transition and turn in compared to a "non-ACEd" valving...

Oh, and as for the qualifier to my opening of my mouth...

I too have trained in Wheel Aligning and Tyre fitting... I have assisted the Crew Chief of Smerdons race car set the suspension up, I have built and crewed several track cars, both bitumen and dirt racers...
And had a WRX eating XR6 falcon - Were talking full cage, V8 Supercar multilink, adjustable suspension...

I dont particularly mind your "you can run without valving changes" comment... You can... But you get a *great* benefit from the valving changes.

As for TD springs... Mate, sorry to BUST YOUR BUBBLE....

But TD coils are wound by KING SPRINGS, to KING SPRING specs and are powder coated grey... Its a OneSteel product... Would you like the alloy specs?

Mate, I'm a petrol head from so far back I have done so much training, learning, experimenting, track time, drags, circuit, speedway etc... Gaining qualifications, working during annual leave to learn specifics of as much to do with Automotive as possible...

My mates 17 yr old son is a Wheel Aligner at Beaurepairs... The training is good, the task, especially on modern road vehicles isnt to difficult - Especially with modern equipment!

So nope! I'm not hopping in my box... I'm scared of the dark

    Ha ha ha...

For the record, my dads car (since I purchased the Disco off him) is a RRS lucky old bugger...

But it means I get a RRS cheap in about 3-4 years

The MY00 Disco had 82k on it when I got it a few months ago... So the RRS should be sweet!
