Prado front is independant suspension and I haven't had anything to do with them. I don't imagine the prado rear would be too different to hilux.
The only landcruiser that has much trouble with diffs is the 100 series. 80 and 100 series have hilux size front diff, reverse cut for strength in forward direction. But 100 series is 4.3:1 (80s is 4.1:1) and when reversing up steep grade they will break - beacause the drive is on the weak side of the teeth and there is more traction at the front wheels in that case.
Toyota 8" diff centre is a decent strength upgrade for Land Rover diffs.
