Thread: For those with "breathy" diesels and oily intercoolers

Hi,I am modifying a 300tdi with a Garrett VNT Turbo,and a heap of other mods,
I'ts going in a 130 Defender and just waiting on parts delivery for the work to commence.
So I'm interested in fitting one of these units.

In case anyone is confused... At the end of the test you will get to keep the provent housing, etc. HOWEVER I need the filter element back for analysis. SO you will either need to:

(a) buy a new provent element from MANN+HUMMEL for your housing
(b) run the housing with no element - won't remove oil mist, but will still work as a safeguard in case something major goes wrong with your engine
(c) remove the provent (not sure why you would want to though...)

The element has a replacement interval doesn't it? Sydney Filter Services (where I buy other Mann filters) should surely be able to hook us up with one yeah?

All the usual MANN+HUMMEL distributors/retaillers should be able to sell you an element. On a small engine like a Tdi/TD5 the service interval should be quite long (e.g. 30k km or even MUCH more) - but at the end of the test I will be able to give you a better answer on that.

OK - well the parts are on their way.

Looks like the price will just be the cost of postage (e.g. - you post me a self-addressed express post bag, I post the provent to you).

Still need another 5 or so people!!!!
