I've searched the Haynes manual ( 300Tdi) to find out where the smaller hose on the bottom of the existing oil separator goes to but it does not even get a mention.

If it goes to the sump ( or more likely the lower part of the crank case) then could that be used as the oil return line for the Provent?

Can you fit the Provent onto the side of the engine? The existing hoses look the right size, so I'll take to OEM one off tomorrow and see if I can make a bracket to fit the Provent in place of the OEM separator.

Yes, however it would be better (long term) to have a proper adaptor. I am sure that somewhere like Pirtek would have something suitable.

Iain, AFAIK the 300Tdi has a cyclone, so that should have an appropriate oil drain. Fitting it in place of the cyclone is no problem - however Please note it on the form (data sheet) if you do that...

Stick a short piece of copper pipe into the original hose and it'll be good for-ever.

Good idea Dougal - or any other pipe (steel, etc) for that matter.

Hi Andrew, The Australian distributor is:
MANN + HUMMEL Australia (PTY) LTD.
    40/8 Avenue of the Americas
    Newington Technology Park,
    Newington NSW 2127
    Phone: 02 9647 1700
    Fax: 02 9647 1936
    Email: sales@mann-hummel.com.au

They can advise you on the closest retailler to you. If someone wants to arrange a group purchase, it would probably be possible to purchase directly from them.

So long as everyone sends me their express post satchels, I have my 50 people, however I am still waiting on about 20 people, and if they don't get in soon (end of the week or so), I may start looking for alternatives.

So - PLEASE Send me the express post satchels and signed forms ASAP! If you have decided you can't or won't participate, please let me know ASAP so I can get someone from my reserve list instead.
